Service, Advocacy and Outreach
At Lincoln Street Church we believe that the gifts of God are to be shared abundantly with all God’s creation. “What we offer in love, God will accept.”
Below are programs and events that we support through our time and money.
- Common Cup Family Shelter: a family winter shelter in the Sunnyside neighborhood
- Hard Times Supper: weekly dinner for those who need a little extra help
- Jubilee USA: supporting debt cancellation for the world's most heavily indebted countries
- Fair trade coffee: Just Coffee and Equal Exchange, so that farmers and roasters receive fair return for their labor
- Hispanic Ministries: work with churches throughout Oregon to support their efforts in reaching Hispanic populations in their neighborhoods and cities
- Brazilian missionaries: working with disadvantaged children and teens
- Yarn Workers: for Alzheimer’s patients and Teen Insights
- CROP Walk: raising awareness and funds to fight hunger
- Parkrose Public School Families at Christmas: supplying food and gifts for families in need during the holidays
- Men’s Hosted Potlucks: speakers on subjects such as: Disaster Preparedness, League of Women Voters, Gambling Addiction, Jubilee USA movement
- Girl Scouts: two SE Portland troups regularly meet in our building
